Abu Dhabi, 9 November 2021: Jubail Mangrove Park, the first self-contained educational, nature and leisure destination of its kind in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi has partnered with Imperial College London Diabetes Centre (ICLDC) to encourage residents lead a healthier lifestyle and prevent from Diabetes, on Saturday November 13, 2021.
The event, which will run from 4 and 7 p.m. will offer a complimentary diabetes screening for up to 200 people, whereby a team of trained ICLDC nurses will be on hand to help increase education on the condition as well as conduct the screening to help contribute towards early detection of the condition. Approximately 463 million adults (20-79 years) worldwide were living with diabetes in 2019, and by 2045 this is expected to rise to 700 million.
Early detection of pre-diabetes can lead to the prevention of diabetes, and the implementation of lifestyle changes can greatly reduce the risk of related complications. To continue to raise awareness, Jubail Mangrove Park asks explorers in the city to attend its Blue Walk on the November 13 between 4 and 7 p.m., whereby guests are invited to visit the meandering boardwalk dressed in blue and white. The access price for the event is at regular rates with no extra fees and free of charge for the kids below 5 years.
Jubail Mangrove Park invites visitors to explore a haven for avian and marine species native to Abu Dhabi, nestled among the mangrove sanctuary. A meandering boardwalk takes you through the mangroves and allows you to discover Abu Dhabi in its essence. Visitors can enjoy a range of activities at Jubail Mangrove Park, including day, sunset, or full moon kayaking, as well as yoga and sound healing sessions, all of which take place in the heart of nature.
