Job Summary:
Logistics managers are responsible for overseeing the overall supply chain management and organizing and monitoring supply and distribution of goods, managing entire order cycle.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and consumers
- Develop risk management programs to ensure continuity of supply in emergency scenarios
- Plan or implement improvements to internal or external logistics systems or process
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping.
- Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
- Plan or implement material flow management systems to meet production requirements
- Negotiate with suppliers or customers to improve supply chain efficiency or sustainability
- Arrange warehouse, catalog goods, plan routes and process shipments
- Resolve any arising problems or complaints
- Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
- Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
- Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements
- Ensuring health and safety standards are met
- Monitoring stock and managing waste
Technical Competencies:
- BS in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of Construction experience with at least 5 years experience working in the local market.
Behavioural Competencies:
- Proven working experience as a Logistics Manager
- Record of successful distribution and logistics management
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
